Before you start
You need four things ready before Roostar can trade:
- Your Roostar website account and active Base access.
- Your broker credentials and enough buying power to trade.
- The Discord channel URLs or approved X source you want Roostar to follow.
- A laptop or desktop that stays awake, plugged in, and connected during trading hours.
Complete setup before the market opens. Roostar is not the place to troubleshoot Discord, WhatsApp, or broker keys while alerts are already firing.
Account and billing
Create your account on the website, accept the legal documents, and start Base. Roostar uses one public plan for launch:
- Base — $50/month
- Trial: 5 days
- Billing: card on file, auto-renews monthly unless canceled
Use the same Google account on the website and in the desktop app. Billing stays on the website. Trading stays in the desktop app.
Download and sign in
Download the correct installer from the website, install it, and sign in with the same Google account used for Base.
- Apple Silicon Macs need the Apple Silicon build.
- Intel Macs need the Intel build.
- Windows users need the Windows installer.
The app reads your account access from the website. If billing is inactive or legal acceptance is missing, the app stays locked.
Keep the computer awake and charged
Roostar can only monitor Discord, X, and broker activity while your machine is running.
- Keep your MacBook or Windows laptop plugged in during trading hours.
- Disable sleep or lid-close behavior that would suspend the app.
- Leave Wi-Fi stable and do not let the operating system hibernate the app.
- Launch the app before the session and let it finish loading in the background.
Broker connection
Open the Trading Setup page in the desktop app and complete the broker section first.
- Select the supported broker you actually trade with.
- Enter the required broker credentials exactly as issued.
- Confirm the broker account is funded before enabling trading.
- Do not enable trading until you see the broker connection is healthy.
Discord and X sources
Roostar ships approved source presets. You do not invent parsers in production. You map your own access to those shipped presets.
- Discord sources: paste the paid-server channel URL from the channel your own Discord account can access.
- X sources: choose the shipped X preset. If the preset is X-based, Roostar uses the approved handle and capture rules already bundled in the app.
- If you want a new source, email support with the Discord link or X handle plus sample entry and exit posts.
The wrong Discord channel URL or the wrong X source means Roostar can sit there doing nothing even though the rest of setup looks correct.
Risk, entry, and exits
After you choose a source preset, tune the trade controls for your account:
- Risk budget: how much Roostar is allowed to commit per trade.
- T1/T2 ladder: how the first and second buys are split.
- T2 offset: how much cheaper the second entry should wait before filling.
- Entry offset: the extra dollars Roostar may pay above the alert price before it skips the entry.
- Exit controls: L1, L2, stop loss, post-T2 stop, protected floor, and runner trail.
If you are not sure what to use, start with conservative settings and smaller size. The product is easier to trust when the first live session is not over-sized.
Challenge mode
Challenge mode exists for evaluation or stricter session rules. Configure it only if you understand why you need it.
- Choose whether Roostar takes the first alert of the day or waits for the first non-high-risk alert.
- Keep challenge mode simple on day one. Complexity here creates confusion during fast markets.
WhatsApp control
Roostar can link WhatsApp for manual control. Configure it from the desktop app only after the rest of setup is stable.
- Enter the allowed phone number exactly as the sender that should be able to control the bot.
- Click Connect WhatsApp and scan the QR code from WhatsApp on your phone.
- Test it before market open so you know the link is healthy.
If you change phones or lose the link, reconnect it before the next session instead of waiting until you need a live manual command.
Daily routine before market open
- Open the app early and let it finish loading.
- Confirm your website access is still active.
- Confirm broker connection, funding, and source feed selection.
- Check that Discord monitoring and any WhatsApp link are healthy.
- Keep the laptop plugged in and awake until the session is over.
Do not force live trading. Stop, fix the broker/source setup, and use the local journal plus support visibility to debug before re-enabling alerts.
